Israel By Choice (IBC)

IBC brings together young Jewish adults from around the world to experience Israel. The program, which is unaffiliated with any specific stream of Judaism or political ideology, allows participants to gain meaningful insights to Israeli society. Participants get the unique opportunity to experience life in a variety of settings including living in big cities, kibbutzim and small communities. Participants spend a significant amount of time volunteering at a variety of places including working with the disabled, teaching English, community gardening and other options.

Participants are given the opportunity to explore the beautiful Israeli landscape as it crosses from the snow, to the beach, to the desert, to the hills. Extremely unique to IBC is the 3 months they spend on a mechina (a preparatory academy), in which participants live with Israelis their own age and learn informally from a variety of incredible speakers from across Israel while simultaneously improving their leadership skills. The IBC program is run entirely by Israelis, allowing participants to experience Israel from the Israeli perspective. This encourages participant exposure to elements of Israeli society, its people, traditions and landscape, which are beyond the reach of those based in the Diaspora.

FBI TravelGroup travel for IBC participants is organised by FBI Travel
