For many years, a popular option for Australian participants has been to participate in a short-term Israel Program over the December/January holidays after finishing Year 12 or during the university summer break. Through the support and initiative of the Keren Hayesod, and local partnerships with AUJS, Kangarusski and Chabad on Campus, over 350 Australians participate each year on short-term Israel Programs that range from 10 days to 6 weeks.
The 5 week program AUJS Academy has existed since 1963 and it remains a highly sought after option for high-school leavers and some participants in their first few years of university. AUJS Academy is coordinated by AUJS Israel Programs in Sydney.
Our partnership with Taglit-Birthright Israel presents a 10 day Israel Program opportunity for Australians. We partner locally with AUJS, Chabad on Campus, Hagshama and KangaRusski to run the Taglit-Birthright Israel program. Each program organiser targets their trip to a slightly different age range. Please refer to the program organiser directly for more information.
Onward Israel is a six-week program designed as a second time Israel program experience for young adults aged 19-30, will provide participants with the incredible opportunity to gain an immersive experience in Israel. The program will also provide professional training with Israel’s leading advocacy organisation. In addition, participants will gain hands-on, practical experience working with an advocacy organisation. Fascinating and engaging seminars and trips around the country round out what is sure to be an unforgettable Israel experience. There are an extremely limited number of places available for this highly subsidized program.
