9 Months
The Betar Shnat program is all about exploring self-identity and gaining independence through a once in a lifetime experience. Shnatties will learn all about Israel and Judaism whilst meeting people from all over the world and creating lifelong friendships. The 10 month program is made up of five different segments.
The first three months of Shnat is done on Machon, Machon is a three month accredited leadership program with other youth movements from around the world. Shnatties will undertake classes on subjects such as Jewish History, leadership classes, Hebrew and Zionism. Following Machon, Shnatties will visit Poland to learn about the Holocaust and Betar’s involvement during this time.
Volunteering is the next part of the program which goes for a month. During this time, the group will be in communal living, helping in various places and people in need within Israel.
The Fourth part of the program is Marva which runs for two months, Marva is a IDF basic training course run by IDF soldiers. This is based in Sde Boker in the south of Israel.
The final portion of the program is independent living/seminars. Over the course of these two months, shnatties will be living independently in Tel Aviv and have ideological seminars run for them.
Betar Shnat includes many different experiences over the course of the 10 month program. The program includes 3 months of the Machon Le Madrichim course, an unforgettable 2 month army experience in the Marva course, movement seminars around Israel and a meaningful volunteering period. Shnat Betar provides the freedom for personal discovery as well as the security of a carefully structured program.
