Birthright Israel answered.

Volunteer in Israel is a joint initiative of Birthright Israel and the Jewish Federations of North America, created to mobilise Jewish adults to support Israeli communities during a critical time.

Thousands have already stepped up.

Now it’s your turn.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is hands-on, meaningful volunteering not symbolic gestures.

• Volunteer 4–6 hours per day where help is needed most

• Support Israeli farmers, families, and communities

• Assist with food distribution and logistics

• Participate in rebuilding and restoration efforts

• Learn, reflect, and connect with Israelis and fellow volunteers

You’ll leave knowing your presence made a real difference

What’s Included

• ✈️ Flights or flight subsidy (depending on departure city)

Participating in this volunteer program does not affect eligibility for other Birthright Israel programs.

Flights & Travel – Important Information

*Please read before applying

You may choose to join a group flight or book your own flights.

If you book your own flights:

• Program fee is $400 USD only

• You are responsible for arranging your travel

• You must arrive and depart according to program dates

Once flights have been booked: A reimbursement of $1600 USD will be provided

 Can I extend my trip?

Yes — return flight extensions may be possible.

• Requests must be submitted at least 72 working hours before departure

• Extensions are subject to airline approval

• A $150 USD travel agent fee applies

• Additional fare differences may apply

• Extensions are managed directly with the travel agent

Do not make post-program travel plans until your extension is confirmed.

How It Works

4. Upload required documents (passport, medical form)

5. Book flights (if applicable) and insurance

6. Pack your bags and get ready to volunteer
