• There is a non-refundable $50 USD registration fee and a $500 AUD activity fee.

  • If you’re flying with the group, there’s a subsidised flight cost of $900 USD.

  • If you’re booking your own flights, there’s no additional cost beyond the $50 registration fee.

  Please note: If you have previously participated in a Birthright Israel Volunteer program and received a flight subsidy reimbursement, you are not eligible to join the group flight.

Yes! You’re welcome to extend your stay.

• Requests to extend your trip must be submitted no later than 72 working hours before departure via the Birthright Israel app (This can only be done once you have been accepted to the program).

• Extensions are not guaranteed and includes a travel agent fee of USD$150 and may incur extra costs if a fare difference applies.

• Do not make post-trip plans until you receive confirmation of your new return flight.

• No changes are allowed within 24 hours before departure, and extensions cannot be arranged after arriving in Israel with Etihad Airlines.

• Please note: Extensions are managed directly between you and the travel agent. Birthright Israel, ZFA, and Israel Outdoors cannot assist with this process.

Yes. If you prefer to arrange your own travel - whether for flexibility or different departure cities - self-booking is absolutely fine. Your program cost will then be $50 USD.

Yes. Private room upgrades are available for an additional fee.

Definitely! Friends or couples can request to room together. Couples’ rooms are available for a small additional cost.

Basic health insurance is included for the program dates while you are in Israel.

Please note: This insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions and only applies once you land in Israel. We highly recommend purchasing a full travel insurance policy for comprehensive coverage.

Yes — while the itinerary is full of activities and volunteering, there will also be built-in downtime for you to relax, recharge, or explore on your own.
